Fast Food restaurants claim that they only serve fresh foods to their customers, but do they really?
A few years ago McDonalds came out with an ad campaign that said "now serving 100% real beef", so what were they serving before? Some suspect that before they were using some beef with other parts of the cow mixed in. Mcdonalds also claims that they only serve fresh foods, but some employees have posted pictures on twitter of the freezer that holds all of the food they serve. The boxes of frozen food indicate that they are processed and must be frozen in order to keep from spoiling. McDonald's is not the only fast-food chain that does this: Wendy's, Subway and even Panera serve foods that come out of a plastic bag. Should the fast-food industry be obligated to let their consumers know where the food is actually coming from?
I completely agree with your stance I challenge the fast food industry as well. I have not ate at McDonalds in the past three years because of the very reasons you presented. The question you pose to start the paragraph is wonderful because exactly, why would they say the "now" part of that sentence, it must be because before was not fresh.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is the reason people have gotten food poisoning from fast food restaurants. There customers aren't sure what they're eating and for all we know the people working there might not even know what for sure they are serving.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the food industry should let everyone know what they are eating before they are allowed to serve it. These processed foods have caused so many health issues among people in the United States, so it is very important to let people know what they will be putting into their body. Although there might not be any guarantee that they are being truthful.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should know what we are eating when we get fast food. I think that should have to be a way that we can know for sure what we are eating and that it should not be kept secret.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!!! It is unjust if they are exploiting their customers' ignorance for profit. If people knew what went into all their recipes, McDonald's would be forced to shape up and serve better food to their consumers.
ReplyDeleteI think they should tell everyone exactly what they are eating and i agree with you on that. Fast food is just another business and the goal is to make money and because of that they are going to stretch the truth. Because what exactly is fresh food? fresh food could be for example food that was prepared at the time you ordered it and just because something is frozen doesn't mean its bad. i think people just need to be aware of what food they are eating because of course no one expects a dollar burger from McDonalds to be perfectly fresh never frozen. But that just shows the rhetoric in todays time and the lack of understanding of it.
