Animal Rights are a very sensitive subject and everyone feels a certain way about them. Most people feel a certain level of compassion for them and will do anything and say anything to empower and help animals. Whenever there is an incident such as an oil spill or an animal abuse story we are very quick to all get together as a group of people and help. Whether it be documentaries we see or a story on the news most will feel some sort of compassion, some may even feel more compassion for these animals
For me, I am on the compassionate side for animals and care very deeply for them. When people write articles on this subject they tend to have a certain level of rhetor and bias. Think about it, how hard would it be to remain completely fair and not cater to the animals feelings in these stories. Do you as the reader think that this is okay?

For example in the article listed above they describe the circus as horrible because of the animal abuse they believe is going on with the zebras. While they may be right about the abuse, they put their own spin on the story by defining the whole circus as being "horrible." I would like to know your thoughts on the subject and if rhetor with compassion for animals has gone to far or if it is just fine.
I agree with the fact that I am on the compassionate side for animals. I have a very strong belief in the fact that animals deserve to have rights of their own, they shouldn't be held in captivity for other peoples enjoyment. It is cruel to animals because they aren't supposed to be locked up entertaining people, animals are supposed to be out roaming in their natural habitat. Whether it is land animals like zebras, or animals in the water like dolphins, each of them should have their chance at freedom. Think of it this way: would you like to be locked up in a cage not understanding what is happening and just having random people staring at you? The answer is no, so animals deserve rights too because they are living and breathing just as we are.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that animals should have rights. It's not fair that they are taken from their homes to be tested on or to be used for entertainment. It's cruel that thousands of animals die in testing labs when alternate options are available. Animals are also abused for entertainment and most people don't realize that buying a ticket to the zoo is contributing to the abuse and inhumane captivity of exotic animals.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that animals should have rights. I think it is cruel to lock them in cages just so people can look at them. They deserve rights just like human beings because they are also living things that breathe and grow. If we kept ever animal in their natural habitat our earth would have way more animals and there would be less endangered species. Although removing an animal from their home is cruel, it can be ok sometimes if it is for scientific experiments. This allows for scientists to learn new things about our earth and animals as a whole.
