Is hunting good for the earth

All over the world hunting is done either for trophy hunting or for a source of food but to say if its beneficial or not is hard to say. There are many different variables that go into this question because theres so many different types of it. I think the best way to look at it is by areas in the world, for example in Texas there is a major wild pig population that is tearing the state apart. Hunting has been opened up to hunt these wild pigs and this helps the farmers in the state. Now this is only beneficial to humans but the pigs also takes food from other native animals in the area that are negatively affected from the pigs and by humans keeping the wild pig population under control its benefiting everything.

This picture shows what the pigs can do to a yard, imagine 3 to 5 million of these pigs around the state doing this to everything in their path.

There are other cases in time where hunting has helped keep populations of animals in the correct balance like the deer and coyote population. The main thing you have to understand that the average hunter wants whats best for the animals and the environment. Because if they animal that they are hunting goes extinct, then they cant hunt them anymore. Depending on certain populations of animals they will open up a season for that animal longer or shorter and limit or expand how many people can hunt these animals.

There are also cases of hunting that are looked down upon like the hunting of elephants and lions and stuff like that. Majority of these people are doing it illegally and are pouching the animal. These people are not following the law and shouldn't be considered hunters as they are not following simple rules. Just like people who do illegal things such as someone selling illegal drugs, those drugs are bad but other drugs aren't, so why say all hunting is bad?
