Thoughts on gun control

I've been thinking a lot about gun control lately due to school shootings being normalized and overlooked nowadays. there hasn't really been and real change in how things work regarding gun control and where pretty much still the same unsafe America, and I think people who are against it are the ones really holding us back. At this point, I think it just comes down to ignorance in a sense. Citizens who aren't for gun control hear some fake news and just run with it. For example, when people bring up gun control some take it as laws that abolish our second amendment and that to me is just silly because a complete ban on guns will probably never happen.  Republicans love their toys way too much to let anyone take them away. Gun controls are laws and policies put in place to protect people and regulate them. What a stronger gun control essentially wants to do is to make guns harder to reach to people who really shouldn’t have one, and when some hear that statement they go straight to "well people can get guns illegally". and yes that is true but it's way harder for them to obtain one. it's like if you're underage and you want alcohol, you have to go through another person to get some but with guns, it's most likely entirely harder. At the end of the day we need stronger gun control so that America’s children can be safe again, and to people who think that gun control is brought up in politics means they’re trying to take your toys away, “Kim, there’s people that are dying.”

  1. I believe the biggest factor causing the lack of action with gun laws is the fact that there are companies like the NRA who are paying politicians millions of dollars to vote in a way that only benefits the gun manufacturing and selling industry. With over 70% of americans wanting some form of added gun control it is a normal question to ask why in the world nothing is still being done, the simple answer is that the people in power are being paid by by the NRA to keep stopping bills from being passed that would hurt the sale of guns even if is incredibly dangerous to be selling these guns.

  2. Yes I agree that having a stricter gun control is not at all violating the second amendment. Stricter gun control should be simply only to protect the citizens and get rid of the fear of school shootings and other public shootings. Ignorance is a huge part of it all.
